Filling a Void

[Location: Warfang, Voltlyn's residence.  Time: Night, early morning.]
[Inside her bedroom, the lightning dragoness, Voltlyn, was sleeping peacefully.  Inside her mentally, Voltlyn suddenly found herself within a black void when out of nowhere she heard a strong and gentle voice calling out to her.]
VOICE: Voltlyn…Voltlyn…Voltlyn…
[As the voice continued calling her name, Voltlyn curiously searched for where the voice was coming from.]
VOLTLYN: Hello?  Is anyone there?
VOICE: …Voltlyn…Voltlyn…
VOLTLYN: Here I am.  What is it you want from me?
VOICE: …come toward the light, daughter of Electricity.
[As the voice spoke, a doorway of light opened up.  Voltlyn, though initially hesitant, approached the light slowly.  She eventually reached and entered the doorway, and sequentially gasped at what she saw: hills filled with numerous species of flowers of all colors bathed in the warm sunlight.  As she strolled up the nearest hill, Voltlyn was amazed at the sheer beauty of this area, one she'd never even seen in all her life before.  When she reached the summit of the hill, she saw something in front of her that made her gasp—a huge, golden quadric-pedal lion, as tall as Hunter, which stood ten feet away from her.  Voltlyn observed that he was the most beautiful and majestic creature she had ever encountered before.  Yet, she also found the sight of it terrifying, for the moment she visualized it, she found herself overwhelmed with intense fear.  The lion's gentle facial features shifted into a more sympathetic and compassionate expression.]
LION: Do not be afraid, dear Voltlyn, for I have no intent of harming you.
[The immense fear Voltlyn had over the lion instantly vanished from within her only to be replaced with admiration and joy of the lion's presence, which surprised her greatly.]
LION: (softly) Come closer, daughter of Electricity.
[The amber colored dragoness obediently approached the lion until she stopped ten inches in front of Him.  She then sat down on her haunches and looked up into the lion's beautiful face.]
VOLTLYN: W-who are you?
[The lion then lowered himself down until he was lying down flat on his belly with his forepaws spread out in front of him.  He was now at eye level with Voltlyn in his current position as he looked at her with gentle eyes.]
LION: I have been called many things…many titles…but most call me by name: Aslan.
[Voltlyn felt a surge of joy flow through her for a moment as she heard Aslan state his name to her.]
VOLTLYN: (mentally) …beautiful…
[The topaz dragoness looked into the Great Lion's beautiful face as he continued.]
ASLAN: Although you have never known or heard of me before, I already known you even before you were conceived in your mother's womb.  And ever since you hatched from your egg, Voltlyn, I have watched over you for sixteen years as you lived the many struggles you endured throughout your life thus far.  Like many others I have watched over throughout history, you have brought me great joy for being who you are, and yet I have also wept in times that you have experienced times of great sorrow and oppression in your life as well, including the loss of your dear father.
[While listening to the Great Lion's gentle voice, Voltlyn was astonished with the how He knew herself, her past, people she knew personally, even the seeming inconceivability that He even knew her even before she was born.  Yet, the overly amazed yellow dragoness continued listening to the Great Lion continued speaking.]
ASLAN: …And yet despite how much you have progressed thus far, there is still something vital that has been greatly lacking, Voltlyn: you never had any true friends in your life.  All your life, there has been a great void that has existed deep inside of you…one filled with dreadful loneliness and reclusiveness.  And as a result, you have had to endure the painful moments in your life without any friends to help you.  I assure, young Voltlyn that everything I have told you is the truth.
[While Aslan spoke, Voltlyn became rigid with utter shock and agony.  From what the Great Lion ultimately revealed about the dragoness's painful loneliness, she felt as if a sharp sword had deeply pierced her heart.  Voltlyn's body remained that way for a few minutes before she eventually looked back into the Lion's eyes, the most utterly gentlest eyes she had ever gazed upon.  Instantly, the yellow dragoness felt deep sorrow surfacing from within her upon an utter realization…]*
VOLTLYN: (mentally) H-he's right!
[Despite her sadness, she continued listening to Aslan as he continued.]
ASLAN: But, do not despair, Voltlyn…for that is why I have come to you now.  I am deeply interested in wanting to know you personally and become your friend.  For if you are willing to be my friend, I can assure that I will be there for you to help overcome any obstacle in life that you encounter, whether great or small.  For when one falls down, the other accompanying him will be there to pick him back up.  And, as a true friend, Voltlyn, I promise that I will neither leave you nor forsake you, for I am forever faithful in you.  But, I can only do this only if you are willing, for the choice is yours alone.
[As Aslan finished speaking, tears were currently streaming down Voltlyn's beautiful visage as she listened.  She felt immense joy building up inside of her upon the prospect of becoming friends with Aslan.  Yet she also felt conflicting feelings of hesitation and doubt about His offer.  When the dragoness looked directly into Aslan's eyes, every ounce of those negative feelings instantly vanished.  The dragoness then stood up, sprang forward and embraced the Great Lion around his neck, burying her head in His magnificent and soft golden mane.]
VOLTLYN: I accept, Aslan.  I accept you as my friend.
[With those words, Voltlyn felt as if a great weight had been released from within her.  She then shed tears once more--this time out of sheer joy instead of sorrow.  She then felt the strong and gentle aura of Aslan embracing her entire body warmly as He smiled greatly.]
ASLAN: That is good to hear, Voltlyn, for you have made a wise decision.  And now, it is time for to arise from your slumber, for the daybreak of dawn is now nearing.  When you awake, I shall be waiting for you and if you ever need me, just call on my name and always I'll answer you.
VOLTLYN: Alright.  Thank you, Aslan.
ASLAN: You are most welcome, Voltlyn.
This is a late birthday present I wrote for :icondardarax:, the author of a wonderful Legend of Spyro fanfiction he's writing entitled Dark Legacy. This same story involves one of his TLoS dragon OCs, Voltlyn, who is starring in this same fanfiction.

Note to Dardarax: I earnestly hopw you greatly appreciate this story I have written for your birthday. And I want to explain that one of the reasons I wrote this story about Voltlyn meeting Aslan is because she is one character in your story that I have great sympathy for her on account how she's dealt with much pain and loneliness. And I earnestly thought that if there was one would she would possibly befriend quite easily, it would undoubtly been Aslan from C.S. Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia (assuming you have heard of it) who could easily befriend anybody he met (except those would naturally oppose Him, such as Jadis or even Malefor). And since Aslan is a Deity, he is more than able to see and enter other worlds and universes at will. But if you are not spiritual person (or a Christian) like me, that is something I do not mind, and you do not have to consider this story canon along the storyline of Dark Legacy too. :)
